Grant Fisher’s performance at the Grand Slam Track event in Kingston was a masterclass in consistency and resilience! Winning the men’s 5000m on day one with a time of 14:39.14 set a strong foundation for his overall success. However, it was his tenacity on day three that stood out. Despite a challenging field, Fisher ran an impressive 8:03.85 in the men’s 3000m to finish third, narrowly holding off Hagos Gebrhiwet, who won the 3000m with a time of 7:51.55.
What made this even more thrilling was that Fisher’s solid third-place finish in the 3000m, combined with his 5000m victory, secured him the Grand Slam Track distance title by just a single point over Gebrhiwet. That one-point margin made his victory all the more dramatic, highlighting his strategic racing and ability to rise to the occasion under pressure.
