Shanel Spence was unstoppable as she netted five goals to lead Cavalier SC to a commanding 11-2 victory over Federal United FC in Jamaica Women’s Premier League action on Match Day 7.
Spence wasted no time putting her mark on the game, opening the scoring in the 4th minute to give Cavalier an early lead. True to her word after telling fans she “came to work,” the striker delivered an electrifying eight-minute hat-trick, adding goals in the 5th and 8th minutes.
She continued her dominance in the second half, completing her five-goal haul with strikes in the 52nd and 91st minutes, capping off a brilliant individual performance.
Shadie Shirley added to the onslaught with a brace, scoring in the 16th and 70th minutes, while Jynell Graham also got on the scoresheet. Deshanna Cole rounded out the scoring for Cavalier with a second-half hat-trick.
Despite the heavy defeat, Federal United FC found some consolation through goals by Africke Beckford and Yasheka Lewis.
With this emphatic win, Cavalier SC moves atop the league table, and Spence’s performance further cements her status as one of the league’s most lethal forwards.
